Chemistry Lab Team Lead
Industry : Healthcare
Education: University degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science and Technology or related scientific field or equivalent.
Experience: Candidate who has experience in similar laboratory leadership roles, preferably within a Chemistry/Food Science environment.
Role Summary:
The Chemistry Laboratory Team Lead ensures the proficiency and optimal functioning of the laboratory in order to provide the best analytical services to the factory and markets and leads a team of 18 direct subordinates; including 1 Job Sharing position. Shift patterns include 4-cycle and straight days.
Role Requirements:
Proficiency: Responsible for the adequate follow-up on results of proficiency tests and interlaboratory comparisons. Responsible for performing root cause analysis in case of poor results and in applying corrective action.
Technical assistance:
o Assist technicians in matters related to instrumentation, analytical monitoring and Good Laboratory Practice.
o Support factories in implementing method updates, alternative methods and in establishing monitoring plans.
Laboratory methods and practices:
o Responsible for the correct and cost-efficient functioning of the laboratory, including personnel safety, availability of equipment to carry out analyses, internal and external quality control.
o Responsible for the analytical competence of technicians to perform the required analysis.
o Responsible for the correct and on time reporting of results to customers and the follow-up of any customer complaints.
o Manage the technicians’ training plan and development needs
o Select, organize and follow up analyses performed by subcontracted labs.
Quality System: Responsible for the proper implementation and regular update of the laboratory quality system in accordance with the GLP Standards.
People and know-how: Develop and maintain competent professionals in the laboratories.
